The different parts of me

The different parts of me

One skill that I especially pride myself on is my curiosity. I’m claiming this is a learned skill rather than an an internal sense because I had to teach myself to look deeper into existing parts of my life, I thought had already served their purpose.

I give my youtube binges a chance to offer me something other than a laugh. My feed usually consists of deep-dives into major scams from influencers, comedic reviews on recent movie flops and Judge Judy court-cases. So, I decided to buy Judge Judy’s books, which turned out to be marvelous reads on her experience as a female judge. I’m now reading a book about how to interpret the constitution in modern day circumstances- willingly!

I let my spoken ability of telling an exciting story converge with my writing skills. “Gossip?” No, I prefer “transporting anybody into any scenario using my choice of words and my natural inflection.” I decided to put that voice to paper. I could tell readers I have never met about that new bar downtown or social change in their community.

I’m not afraid of adapting future plans because I have passion. Passion for not only writing, but for my degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management. What does tourism have to do with journalism? That’s the story I would love to tell! My first year of college I joined my campus newspaper based solely on my love for writing. The small campus club position was turned into an opportunity to take a few journalism classes, which led to multiple journalism internships, and currently holding the co-editor position on that student-run newspaper. My degree emphasized economies, governments, cultures and global sustainability. Now, I have the tools to become a travel writer and stay curious.
